NO DEFEAT
“But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.” (Judges 16: 21)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the Philistines removed the eyes of Samson and brought him down to Gaza. It was in Gaza that Samson took the gate of the city and climbed up a hill. Gaza was the place where he had shown great exploit. In the same Gaza, Samson was reduced to nothing. In the same Gaza, the man who terrorized an entire nation became a comedian for the nation. His place of triumph became the place of defeat.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: the places of your greatest triumph will never become places of defeat. The places where you received mega congratulations will not become the area of your greatest ruin. The places where men celebrated you will not become the place of mourning and shame. The places where you were once distinguished will not become the place of your greatest shame. You will not lose where you once won.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: the places of your success will not become signposts of failure. The places where you received amazing results will not become harbingers of bad news for you. The place of your rising will not become the place of your downfall. The place of your shining will not become a place of mockery. You will not move from exploits, to shame. You will not move from good news to bad news in your ‘Gaza’.
Powers that make men to fail in the same places where they have succeeded, I decree, you will never be their candidate. Powers that make a mess of the successes of men in the same places where they succeeded, you will never be their candidate. It will never be said that your destiny was reduced to ruins in the same places where you once shone like a million stars. You will not go down in the same places where you excelled.
You will not end like Samson. You will not end in shame in the same places where you did noble. You will not lose in the same places where you won before.
Jeremiah 39: 17 says: “But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.”
Declare With Me: My places of triumph will never become places of defeat, in Jesus’ name!
